Hey all,
1) I have Benq Xl2411z and used to have (3 days) Viewsonic XG2401. The Benq has really bad (washed out) collors compared to the Viewsonic, however I managed to achieve white being white at the Benq which I really like. At the Viewsonic after hours of tweaking I always ended up with white being yellow-ish (that bothered me). Colorwise the ViewSonic had really nice rich, full colors and could also achieve really nice blacks. At the Benq black is rather dark grey and I don't think I can get really solid Blacks.
2) Regarding response time and input lag I must say and this is the biggest deal that I don't know whether the ViewSonic had better response than the Benq. They are both gaming displays but I felt like the ViewSonic had better "connected feeling" with all I did movement wise. With the Benq I feel slight disconnect with the movement on the screen. And now I don't know whether I am just imagining it or it could be a real case? I am using the AMA at Premium at Overwatch that should ensure faster response time right?
3) Eye strain. While playing on the ViewSonic I suffered eye strain and it wasn't pleasant. Now on the Benq I must say that drom the begining I suffered the same amount and also some motion sickness. But it got better and yesterday I played whole afternoon and it felt fine. Did I get used to the motion of 144hz (used to play solely on 60hz screen all my life) and the screen quality or could it really be the Benq that I donť feel like eye strain or dizziness anymore? Could be that I moved the screen further away from my eyes on the table and also adjusted a bit the heigh so I am looking rather in the middle of the screen.
Summarized. My issue is should I stick with the Benq XL2411z as i am rather satisfied with it or should I go back to the VieSonic XG2401? The thing is i would have to RMA the Benq, buy the ViewSonic, but what if the ViewSonic would be still as bad as the one before? I would have to RMA the ViewSonic again and get back the Benq. Rather complicated solution.
PROS BENQ XL2411z
+ White is white
+ no eye strain (probably got used to it)
+ slightly cheaper (7 500 CZK)
+ better design
+ no speakers
+ more gaming OSD options - settings memory
+ widely used among users -> more setting options etc.
CONS BENQ XL2411z
- washed out colors
- black is dark grey
- response time feels off (might be just my imagination)
- luminance uniformity is rather random (not uniform)
PROS VIEWSONIC XG2401
+ rich and full colors
+ black is really black
+ better response time (might be just my imagination)
+ AMD Freesync (I am Nvidia user so this plus is useless for me, for now)
CONS VIEWSONIC XG2401
- build in speakers - they are buzzing even when mute (would bother me for sure as I am rather sensitive to noise)
- more expensive (8 000 CZK)
- OSD is worse
- White was yellow-ish
- not many reviews
- eye strain (could be the screen or could have used to it)
Please give me feedback on aformentioned issues and what would you do if you were me? Thanks a lot. it is this complicated as i want to get the best for the buck. I have already RMAed 5 screens in 3 weeks and starting to get tired of it as i want to enjoy myself already.
