Help me find new graphic card,

I am looking to upgrade from my Ati 9600XT

Here is my current system

P4 2.4C GHz (@ 3.4 GHZ) Stock Intel Heatsink AS 5------I will never buy AMD
Asus P4C800 E- DELUXE
OCZ PC-4200 512MB 2.5-4-4-8
Liteon SOHW-832S
Antec TruePower 550watt
ATI Radeon 9600XT=@ 537/319
----WD RAPTOR 2X36.6 (RAID-0)
----WD 5400rpm 2x40gb (RAID 1)
Mistubishi 930SB 19"

I mostly play counter strike, but would really like to play HL 2, Doom 3 and BF 2 and other new games, so they look very good with great fps.

I will not upgrade my computer, and if I did it would be to another Intel chip becasue I dont use or like AMD.

I can spend at Max $410

what do you guys recommend.

How does the x800xl compare to the 6800 GT

Right now its a little cheaper and pretty similar peformance, six of one half a dozen of another. I had a 6800 OC and sold it to get my X800XL and imo its a way better card, but compared to a GT they are alot more similar.

The 6800 does have SM 3.0, dont listen to us on this do the independent research and see if it matters to you, and if your buying the boards the ability to do SLI now.

The X800Xl has the lower price at the moment (Things will probably change quite a bit over the next month as both companies do some pricedrops because of the new high end) and is better at some things, worse at others, than the 6800 GT.

IMO (Please remember I said that) SM 3.0 in its current state is pointless. To take advantage of the really cool features a single 6800 GT is not powerful enough for enjoyment anyways. Me and my friend sit side by side and he definatly likes my X800XL better. We both agree it seems smoother (Please remember the part I said about remembering) and looks better. Bottom line for me would come down to price. You cant really go wrong with either card.

That's the best AGP card out there...so yeah that's a killer deal.

i'd still get a 6800gt because of SM3.0...you'll want that for next gen games

I saw some european site that had a leadtek 7800gtx for $415 if you converted currencies...
