This is a pc i built in 2005
1 x MSI RS480M2-IL 939 ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
1 x AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester 2.0GHz Socket 939 Single-Core Processor ADA3200BIBOX
2x1 x TwinMOS 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model M2GAJ08A-MK
1 x NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model ND-3520A BK - OEM
1 x Antec Solution SLK2650-BQE Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply
Basically this pc is has been my file server and torrent box for a few years now but recently the motherboard has started to give me problems. Sata ports no longer work, onboard video does not work and sometimes the pc wont start unless i plug the power supply and re plug it in.
I want to know whats the cheapest way to get this running again.
i looked on ebay for a new motherboard and the cheapest that i can buy is around 50 but to me thats a rip off for over 8 year old hardware. They dont make socket 939 motherboard anymore so im very limited as to where i can buy from.
What are my options, can i buy a new motherboard and cpu that i can throw in there without having to buy a new power supply or ram or is there anywhere i can purchase a new/used pc for $100 or under ?
i also need it to run windows 7.and something that can fit 5 hard drives in.
any help would be appreciated.
