The worst part is I don't even have a Qdoba around me when I do have those hankerings Have to go up into Michigan or west into Valpo

But Moe's is still pretty good for those times. Plus there's many a time when Chipotle is friggin packed and I simply don't want to wait in that line. Always need a backup :awe:

I have a Qdoba less than 2 blocks from me. Guess I know where lunch will be tomorrow!

So here’s my story and why I won’t be visiting any qdoba restaurant until they own up and make what’s right.

I recently got a rewards card after visiting a qdoba restaurant and wanted to put in my receipt for points since I couldn't do it at the store because the card needed to be registered first.

On the site, it says to put in a code at the bottom of my receipt. This issue is, there is no code at the bottom of any of the receipts I have (we went up 3 times to buy stuff that night).

It turns out you have to tell the cashier you will need to put the receipt in your card later for the points to exist. Well, the cashier knew because we said we didn’t have a card but would register a new one later (we picked up a new card at the register while making our first purchase). What the hell is that anyway? Other reward cards automatically put a code on the bottom if a reward card is not scanned.

Well, needless to say, I didn’t get any credit to my account so I emailed them. What did they do? No response. Yep, 3 emails and still no response. Note: my email was not confrontational.
On top of that, the reward card says that if you register a new card, you’ll get a salsa and chips as credit. Did I get that? Nope. Way to over your customers.

Honorable mention to screw your customers goes to Rite Aid pharmacy.

I went in and got a bunch of stuff for my travels. One item was on sale. The lady at the register said that if I didn’t have a loyalty card or whatever they called it, I could not get the sale price.
What the….????? Most other stores give you the sale price regardless. Well, I walked out without buying a thing. Yep, they lost a sale and not just on the sale item. Way to screw a potential customer.

Because of this, I urge all of you to boycott qdoba and Rite Aid. Post this thread on Facebook and Twitter if you got it (because I don’t have either). I may have to sign up but I don’t have that many followers as some of you.

Couple of things. Qdoba's email CSR takes a long ass time to respond. The other day, my wife went to redeem a free meal from Qdoba and they refused to give it to her stating we didn't have enough points. I logged onto my account while she was on the store and it clearly stated that we had 1 free meal and we were about 100 points away from a 2nd one. Emailed their corporate office and finally got a reply back in about 1.5 weeks. Turns out they have this feature on their card where you can disable the spending of points so you can keep banking more points. By default it's set to on (stupid). The part that really irked me is the people at the Woodbridge store were really condescending towards my wife (I could hear those assholes over the phone saying "You ain't got the points so you're not getting the free meal. I'm not going to call my manager or look up why it's not giving it" Needless to say, I told my wife to just walk away and let them do whatever they want with their food.

For Rite-aid, was there a reason you didn't just get a card?

When I see people complaining in stores/restaurants about trivial shit like this I have to suppress the urge to walk up to them, hand them $20 and say "Now please shut the fuck up and let me eat in peace."

I particularly feel this urge when I see someone berating some 20 year old wait-staff, there's just no reason to behave like that OR to get that worked up over life's truly inconsequential events.

Rite Aid sucks without doubt, but their card program isn't unique. There are supermarkets and other places who do exactly the same thing. You have to use your own card or if you forgot it you can enter your phone number. The cashier wasn't lazy, it's the OP. No one has the authority to wave the card requirement, manager or no. That is grounds for termination, and heavens knows I know that company all too well.

God, I hate reward cards, and the people who bitch and moan about their "points".

I loved Walgreens because they never used a stupid fucking rewards card. Now they do. It makes me never want to shop there again, but I have little choice, since every other store uses those damn things.

When the cashier asks for your card and I say that I don't have one, they always look at me like I'm crazy. One girl got butt hurt when she asked if I wanted to sign up for one, and I replied, "No thanks". You'd have thought I killed her fucking puppy from the look she had on her face.

it is weird...but there was some strange thread in P&N back in...08? where either I or someone else local posted a news story about a local candidate (city council, maybe state legislature) cooked up some cockamamey flier scheme--I forget what it was, exactly, but it was bizarre and he was roundly ridiculed for it.

Within about 1 hour of this thread creation, said candidate created an AT account and began posting in that thread to defend his honor. This was a day or two before the election. (or maybe it was the day after)

Why didn't you just fill out a loyalty card? (Hint: if you don't want them to track you, give a fake name/address.) That would have taken far less time than going to a different store & retrieving all the same items and taking them up to the cashier.

Something I've noticed: grocery stores with reward cards - anything NOT on sale costs a hell of a lot more than it does in most other stores that don't require rewards cards. In other words, it's worth having a rewards card JUST to shop for things that are on sale there, if it's a particularly good sale.

Re: the restaurant. Kudos for them to have a representative willing to reach out to people who appear to be displeased with them. But, your complaint is actually pretty petty, and stems from a cashier making a nearly trivial mistake (trivial to anyone else; a mountain out of a molehill to you.) I hope the rep reads this and realizes that they should only hire MIT, Harvard, and Yale graduates in economics/business/or a related field to fill the positions of cashier. (/sarcasm.)
