Alright, the problem is as such:
essentially her computer will post, begin booting win2k and then once it reaches the establishing network connections phase will reboot itself. It does the same thing if i try to boot it in safe mode or any of the other alternate win2k boot modes. Apparantly it was working fine until just today. I'm not sure if this is in the realm of what a virus might do, or if her system has somehow lost some essential boot files or what. I'm at my wits end without resorting to booting from a disk and reinstalling her o/s...
perhaps you fine fellows might have some insight into my situation. if not i fear my mothers constant questions and harrasments will slowly but surely drive me insane.
(the box itself is an amd tbird 1ghz, asus a7v with generic other components)
