At my office, we just revamped our entire network...servers, routers, wireless...the whole works. We switched our wireless connection from WEP to WPA, and the adapter my computer has been using is not WPA compatible.
I don't know the specifics, but our wireless AP is a Cisco 802.11g type.
I asked the guys who installed the system which wireless adapter I should choose. They said for what I am doing, I could simply go out and pick up a linksys adapter that does WPA and it should work.
So, what would be a good PCI or USB wireless adapter to pick in this scenario?
Any suggestions on brand/model?
is there any point in going to 802.11n draft?
Does 802.11g w/rangeboost make any difference?
I am in a separate building (next door) from the AP, if that makes a difference.
