Help me remove adware

Hello, so today I did something stupid and installed Jewel Quest 3. Now I have addware and who knows what else on my computer. Norton killed the uninstaller, so its not in the list of programs anymore.

I googled and found some websites offering free uninstall tools, but I am highly skeptical of these

I don't have any experience with removing this stuff, other than using sbybot many years ago. It broke my registry so I am nervous about downloading anything.

Here is a good start, download from www.bleepingcomputer.com when they have it.
TDSSKILLER
Adwcleaner
Rkill
Mbam

1. Use one and only one anti virus and keep it updated. The free ones are Bit Defender, MSE, AVG, Avira, and Avast.
2.periodically or when there are problems:
a. run tdsskiller – this checks for rootkits and corrects - 3 minutes
b. run ADWcleaner- very fast and effective malware cleaner. scan/ select clean. Requires reboot. - 5 or 10 minutes

3. If problems persist:
a. run rkill – it takes 2 or 3 minutes to start and 3 more to finish DO NOT REBOOT
b. when rkill finishes, run Malwarebytes a full scan and fix all - 1 hour or so.

This should fix most if not all the adware. You may also need to reset each browser you use.

Thank you so much for your help, xg. I already did a full system scan with Norton. I will try the rest of your suggestions.

For resetting the browsers, do you mean un-install and re-install them? Or is there a simpler way of doing it?

Adwcleaner will likely get most of it if not all. Even if it seems to get all, run Malwarebytes when you have an hour or two for insurance.

I recommend using the following tools for removing the adware:
- Ccleaner
- Bitdefender Adware Removal Tool for PC [free]
- Spybot-Preventor
- SAS (SuperAntiSpyware)
- Malwarebytes - Remover

Or you could do a system restore before the date you have installed Jewel Quest 3

Hey, I suggest you run a scan of the PC by using the free version of Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes is a reliable anti-malware program and it can detect and remove adware and other cyber threats. I have used it for a long time and my PC runs well.
If you know the exact name of the adware, you can follow the instructions mentioned in the posts below to manually delete the adware from your PC manually.
