OP clearly stated - playing Facebook games only - so there's not going to be a difference in iGPU performance for his needs between the Intel and AMD options. Leaving the clear choice with Intel as the CPU side is hands down stronger.

I'm going to say anyway, look for a prebuilt machine unless you just really want to try your hand at building. Much better values overall from the OEMs at the low end. Just be careful, make sure you get a "real" CPU, not that Atom garbage.

Also, look out for those 'Celeron' and 'Pentium' CPUs that are really Atoms under a different name. OP, if the PC you buy has a Celeron or Pentium, make sure it is a G-series one (e.g. Celeron G1840, Pentium G3220) and NOT an N series, J series, etc. The G-series is the proper big-core, N/J is the piss-weak Atom architecture.

Yet he wants to upgrade to an dgpu eventually so there might be more motives there he might want to elaborate on. Given his power envelope and price, there might not be much options out there in terms of discreet so starting off with a good dgpu might be considered.

...and, if he decides to add dGPU in the future, at that point he would be MUCH better off having an Intel CPU under the hood, than a weak-sauce AMD CPU...

Took awhile to piece through that thread and get to the meat of it (and I have so many posts per page that, for me, there's only two pages, but I digress).

AM1 is not an upgradeable platform. It's just cheap. I'm a little surprised to see the GT1 graphics getting anywhere near a 5350 though. A pity, really, since that's where the 5350 was supposed to shine. Oh well!

Still, I think the OP needs to do what he can to get an SSD since that will govern much of the responsiveness of his system given the stated usage patterns, and he's going to want 8 gigs of RAM. Is he really going to want to put an i3 or i5 on an H81 system with a WD Blue and 4 gigs at a future date? I wouldn't, not really.

But then, I wouldn't want to be saddled with an AM1 system either.

edit: for those wondering why I keep putting that DDR3-2400 in there:

It's cheap, and you don't have to run it at DDR3-2400. You can set it to CAS 6 and run it at much lower frequencies with good results, which is what's going to happen with that Pentium since it doesn't support anything faster than, what, DDR3-1333 on H81? I think? Or is it DDR3-1600? Ditto for the 5350.

If he can find a way to get a 60-120 gig SSD and some more RAM, I think he should do it. Heck the 4 gig kits aren't going for much less than the 8 gig kits anyway. Let's see . . .

Here's a G3258 build to counter the AM1 build I pasted above. More expensive, but more upgradeable. Still not a Z97 system but oh well, too bad. Can't have everything!

AM1 isn't an upgradeable platform but you don't use a 900 series chipset on the Intel motherboard?

Hello guys.
Carefully read your messages and feel the need to thank you all for your time.
For now, oriented to the following solution:

Cpu: Intel Pentium G3258 for 63e
Mobo: Asrock H81M-HDS for 48e

This seems a little on the pricey side. Did you search for "G3258 combo" in your area? I'm sure you dont have a Microcenter down the street, but maybe there is something like that.

Mobo: Asrock H81M-HDS for 48e
Ram: Kingston KVR16N11S8/4 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ for 37e
-----Hdd: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB Sata III for 44e-----
Psu: BE QUIET! System Power 7 300W for 33e
Case: cugar spike 5ss7 for 21e
Total: 246e
I'm thinking to put an SSD instead of the above Western Digital.
here
For storage ι will use an older SATA2 disk that I have.

I will leave for later a 4gb memory stick
