I am in the market for a good MP3 player with built in memory and expandable memory.
After doing some research, I come up with a rather limited choices for the amount of money I'm willing to put out. So I give you the details and please let me know what you think of it

1. Eumax 4-in-1 128MB MP3 Player, Memory Expandable Up To 640MB for both MMC and SD memory Blue/Black Color - 128MB - $100 (shipped)
* This unit looks really cool, it also has a built in USB male connector (no extra USB cable is necessary) to access the USB port. To put things simple, the features are:
- built-in 128MB with expansion slot for Secure Digital / Multimedia Card (up to 512MB more)
- MP3 player, voice recorder, SD/MMC Card Reader/Writer function, USB Flash Storage

cons:
- USB 1.1 and no FM Tuner
- no review yet even though one review in iocombo.com seems to really like the product

2. IROCK 730I MP3/WMA AUDIO PLAYER - $122
Pros:
- display pictures and lyrics

Cons:
- only takes SMC (up to 256MB)
- MP3i format which I am not sure how to make
- USB 1.1

3. Eumax 5-in-1 Digital Audio (MP3) Player 128MB (Expandable to 640MB) - $110 (shipped)
* really small in size - great review from hardextreme.org - comes with all in product number 1 plus:
- FM Tuner
- upgradable firmware
- longer battery life
- USB 2.0

cons:
- doesn't look as cool
- need USB cable to transfer file

So, from those 3 in the list, which one do you think is the best bang for the buck? Thanks for the advice guys.:music:

Yeah definately another vote for the Eumax 5 in 1 that thing is nice(I would definately look for a USB 2.0 player now a days too). The only thing I don't really like about it is the ugly colored backlight + low res screen other than that it's hot. Just wondering (i have a hardware based mp3 player and have never used a memory one) do the memory cards hang out that far when they're inserted into the mp3 player? That seems like it could be easily broken...

Have you loooked at any of the Rio products, especially the sport ones. I've got a S30 and it's great. Small, expandable, FM Tuner, and good sound.

Good point but it will still be noticably lighter plus you get all the benefits of a memory based mp3 player (no skipping, more durable, won't ever have to wait for spin up). Everyone knows the list of features for the ipod so I won't even bother. IMO I would get an ipod, not a mini though (Way too Overpriced!!!!!), but it really depends on your budget.

I got the Rio Cali Sport 256MB version from BestBuy for $150 (giftcards), has the MMC/SD slot, FM tuner, only usb1.1 though I think, but I manage, very small, lightweight, great sound. I would recommend it considering it's only a little more than some you listed but has twice the initial memory plus the FM tuner.

Nah .. I think they just take the picture like that to make ppl easily see that they can insert card there. If it was hanging out like that, many peeps will lose their card falling
