I just bought a 3com wireless card w/ xjack. But it cannot connect to the Access points of our school. One possilbe reason is that the APs of our school turn off the SSID broadcast. Anybody has experience with this 3com 3CRWE62092A card connecting to a SSID broadcast disabled AP? I have no access to the APs so I can not do anything to the AP.
Is there any other possible reason?
I am using Windows XP and the newest version of driver from 3com
The windows XP wireless client program can show avaialbe network with no SSID showed. I configured it with the SSID and WEP key and added it to the peferred networks. A red cross showed on the icon in the preferred networks list. However, sometimes when I refresh, a blue circle shows on the icon. Maybe it is because it gets something from the communication between the AP and other PC card.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
