HELP!! my bro needs an upgrade

yo i recently got a new system and gave my old one to system my bro and he wants an upgrade, im quite a newbie so i dont know to much so i thought i ask u guys fo rur help. No before i get to the current the upgrade wil lhave to be cost effective, the best bang for the buck i got a restrictred budget here. Nest my bro will be mainly using it for interent and games. I am lookin to change the cpu to a celly and o/c it a bit, k here the current system:

Asus CUSl2-c (dont really wanna change mobo like this 1, jus want faster cpu but will if this one is too old)
PIII-733 (lookin at a 1.0ghz cely)
geforce2mx ( gonna give him my radeon 8500oem, when i get my geforce4ti)
256micronpc133 ram(possibly toss in another 256)
maxtor 20.0gig ata 100 7200 hd ( gona give him my maxtor 40 gig when i get my 60 from maxtor(rma) )
volcano6cu+hsf( if it fits on the mobo ill giv him my alapha 8045 when my water cooling kit arrives)
genric 250w psu ( gonna give him my old us-cand 300w psu, got my enermax 450 whisper)

stuff im not gonna change
hp cd writer 10x
genric case w/ sunon case fans

any input u guys have will be greatly appreciated

over clock that 1.6a to 2.4 or so... and you have one of the fastest machine... right now.

that would also mean that you'd have to get some DDR rams.

Or, if you wanted to spend approximately the same and go AMD and have a lot of speed without having to overclock,

Get a Soyo Dragon+ mainboard and an Athlon xp 1700+ CPU (1.47ghz). Same components, otherwise.

If you want rock bottom price, get a Duron 850-1ghz and a biostar M7VKG.

the alpha 8045 won't fit on a pentium III motherboard, as the mobo lacks the mounting holes that the alpha requires.

i am gonna say stick with amd too. go get yourself an epox 8kha+ and an xp 1700+, some ddr ram and you are ready to go.
