Clearly the instructions are to vote for our favorite photo, not the "best" photo. I feel no guilt voting for #6 over the two pictures taken at an aquarium. A child interacting with a domesticated goat is every bit as much about the theme "exploring nature" as is people taking pictures at an aquarium. After all, if I were to take a picture of a couple of goldfish in a goldfish bowl, you you consider that "exploring" nature? Of course not. So what's the difference if the subject is a goldfish, one of those turtles that used to cost 25 cents when I was a kid (damn people whining about salmonella killed that as one of the coolest alternatives to the ubiquitous goldfish), or a bigger turtle in a larger aquarium?
It's my favorite because, well, it came from a community that I'm involved in. Just as a parent would generally naturally place their own child's painting as their favorite - despite being able to also differentiate between quality & rate another child's painting as being better.
