Well, it sounds easy but it is really not.
I want to preserve my informations on Win XP, and Win 2000 server setup bitches that the file system is incompatible and then it wants to reformat my C: drive (which contains Windows XP + all my data)....
Is there any other way to install win 2k server...?
I can disconnect the primary hard drive, and install Windows 2000 server on secondary hdd, but later on how do I let win 2k know that there is another OS installed?
Help?
Also, if windows 2000 bitches about file system being incompatible then it means that every new release on NT kernel based Operatin System contains also a new release of NTFS, which is incompatible with previous version of Windows....Bad...
My disk config:
1. IBM DeskStar 40 Gb runnig one 40 Gb NTFS partition, and Windows XP
2. Maxtor 30 Gb hdd running one 14 Gb NTFS partition(or whatever works with windows 2000 server). The rest of the drive is free waiting for linux Mandrake which will be installed @ the end.
