help new amd duron 650 system 30% slower then amd k7 550

i have bought some new parts in my system yesterday, and it is slower then my old system was

new parts
amd duron 650 @ 724
abit kt7
hercules prophet 2 geforce mx

old parts
msi athlon mainboard 6167
amd athlon 550
3dfx voodoo 3 3050

all other parts have stayed the same
256meg memory
maxtor harddisk

while testing the new system at 724 mhz its 30% slower then the old sytem.

i already installed the latest via 4 in 1 drivers, no luck
also a clean windows install hasnt helped me

please anyone help me, it feels now like i bought a slower system

install the AGP driver only, after the 4 in 1. That fixed my problem.

well i have had some tips from people and i am happy to report that the system now runs great at 7.5 * 106 mhz ( max i can reach )
when i go to 800 the system just freezes

i've got a duron 650@800 kt7RAID, id like to know how you made it faster so i could do that to mine

i used the pencil trick, and currently running at 810 mhz
7.5 times 108, i cant use the 8 times multiplier then my system just freezes

Have you tried upping the voltage?That might be why you are being held back.
