Help! Non responsive window after resume.

Hi,

I have non responsive window problem.

I set generic blank screen as screen saver.
I may be downloading large files.
10 minutes later with no action, monitors go blank.
2-3 hours later, windows come back on as I move my mouse.

And, this is where problem arise.
Nothing is responsive.
Downloading stopped - don't even know when it stopped.
Start button don't work.
Everything is frozen, except Windows Task Manager showing list of processes.
On Windows Task Manager: I can close downloading.
On Windows Task Manager: explorer.exe shows CPU Usage of more than 50%
and it's busy forever.

Only action I can take is manual reboot by pressing restart button on computer case.

Why is this happening?
What did I do?

I have no problem with normal use.
However, CPU Usage goes up as high as 50%+ for few seconds and then
goes down when I open some folder. Is this normal?

* 2GB PC 3200 DDR400 Dual Channel

* WD Raptor 150GB SATA 10,000RPM w/16MB Buffer
* Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA 7200RPM w/16MB Buffer
* 400 GB SATA Hard Drive
* Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000SWA Silver 600W
* Windows XP Pro.
* 4 Pc Dell 2405 FPW

Set Windows not to enter standby mode. Control Panel >> Power Options

ok man reading the specs for your machine it sounds alot like its your ram. when you leave a computer on for extended periods of time, its bad for the ram. the ram will get what are called "burps" or whatever and will freeze up your computer. thats why servers use ECC registered memory, its made to be on year-round.

im not sure but it looks to me like you have two different kinds of RAM in your rig. that is most likely your problem.

try removing one set and see if you still get the problem.
keep us posted.

However, It's not set on standby mode or hibernate mode.

For different memory: I already removed 2 sticks trying to figure out what cause this
problem. So, I only have 2GB Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 DDR400.
It's still having same problem.

I never had this problem until I put new C: drive and reinstalled everything.

Could there be any other reason not caused by hardware?
