Well I'm finally getting ready to upgrade to a PCIe system. My socket 754 has served me well and it's still pretty darn fast but the newest games I am unable to run smoothly at my lcds native resolution so figured if I need a new graphics card might as well do the processor as well. This is going to be done on a tight budget with the gpu being the last thing purchased (might ask for it as a xmas present). I know as much as anyone else that Intel is the smarter way to go right now but for some strange reason I am still temped by AMD. Call me a fanboy or whatever but guess I just like what I am used or have some kind of brand loyalty thing going. If I go AMD I will probably be buying these 3 parts very soon.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor (concluded this would be the better buy over the 5000+ BE)

BIOSTAR TF560 A2+ AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 560 (read this is a great board although not true AM2+)

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (best deal I could find)

I'm not really sure what the comparible Intel system would be, perhaps you can help me, but this comes out to a little under $300. Was hoping to spend around $250 or so. Anyway, my questions are then what would be some good comparible Intel setups to this and what can you say to convince me to go Intel over AMD? Yeah I know all the benchmarks say Intel is faster but personally for gaming primarily I'm not sure I'll see any real world noticeable difference in performance. Thanks
