I've built my last few computers myself and after three or so years on my current system, I'm looking to build another one. My problem is, I haven't kept up with the current hardware trends (new job, two new kids in that time frame), so I'm not sure what hardware to get. I've used pricewatch.com in the past and figured I'd do the same again now.
My budget is around $2,000, give or take. I mostly use my computer on the Internet and to do things like word processing and Photoshop. However, I'd like to be able to do more multimedia ... burning DVD movies of my kids, music CDs etc, the capability to watch TV on my computer would be neat, and I could use a built in media card reader. I don't play a lot of games, so that's not an issue. A cool case would be a nice extra, as would a larger LCD monitor than my current 17 inch.
Any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated.
