HELP!! Please someone help

I reformatted my computer today because i was getting weird messages about the memory for like 4 days so i thought a nice clean hard drive would do her good. So i reformatted now i am trying to download all my drivers and everytime i try to install one i get messages like "svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed shortly by windows. You will need to restart the program. an error log has been created." then when i try to install another driver i get messages having to do with rpc something?? what the hell is going on? is there anybody out there that can help.

Do you remember what these messages were? It could be that your memory is legitimately bad, which would cause things to act up such as SVCHOST. Or it may be totally unrelated. But don't assume that those messages regarding memory were just a fluke.

sounds like this RPC vulnerability
There are several threadhs in the OS forum dealing with it. Basically you are being hacked. check the threads in the os forum to find some possible solutions. Try XP's built in firewall there are some references that say it may help.

Ya, i just posted about it today. YOu have to download a patch by Microsoft and it's all fixed. Looks like Bill Gates came on anandtech secretly and showed us who the real geek is by releasing this.

thanks everybody she is fine again and she is on the road to recovery i have her on a perscription of some norton systemsworks and just some lights media work for the next couple of days.
