help please

I just built my first computer. I have an Abit KT7, 750 TBIrd, Diamond Monster MX400 Sound Card, and an ATI AIW Radeon. I am running Windows ME. The darned thing freezes on me ALL THE TIME. What is my problem. I have talked to tech support at ATI, Microsoft, Abit, and Dian=mond and they aren't sure what the problem is. Is this a case of Windows ME not liking my hardware? Or is this an issue with something else. I have already downloaded the lastest drivers for all.

Whats the Specs? Like how much ram? (how many sticks too). Cause run your machine with only the needed parts, then keep adding parts till u start getting problems.

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest 4in1 drivers from VIA.

System's freezing? You got to troubleshoot.

Remove all hardware except.

Motherboard, HD, FD, 1 memory stick, keyboard/mouse, vid card.

If system works fine, then add ONE componet at a time till problem occurs...then you know what is the cuprit.

If the above basic system is still having problems, remove HD, mouse, and change memory stick....boot to DOS...does the system freeze?

Being that Radeon is such a new card, you should check for incompatibiites with winME and your motherboard.....
