try out pandora.com

I don't know if I'd use all those songs to seed your station though, because that's a really weird mix.

Tell me about it I don't have any real genre preferences, besides classical maybe. I just like one song from here and one song from way over there and a sprincling of things in between.

This... I'm not picking up a vibe from your choices; it's pretty eclectic. If you like classical, but maybe want something different, give jazz a try. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Coleman Hawkins, and Charles Mingus would be a good start.

Uh wtf? How are we supposed to make suggestions based on that list? You've got pretty much every genre there is in that list.

Also, the best equivalent to pandora in Canada is last.fm but it's not really that great. Better than nothing I suppose.

Bach is technically Baroque (didn't know this myself until somewhat recently, lol) but I recommend Beethoven Symphonies No. 4 and 5. I just started systematically listening to classical music, and purchased this cd:
http://www.amazon.com/Beethove...dwig-van/dp/B00076AE3U

I gave it a couple of listens so far, and it's very good. I also have a sampler CD with different famous classical pieces by various composers. Stuff that might be familiar from TV shows, movies, and especially early cartoons.

I'm also giving listening now to the Battlestar Galactica OSTs (first 3 seasons), which I am a big fan of. Even though the show kinda got worse over the seasons because some of the arcs, the music was consistently good. Really love the use of the Japanese drums and the epic feel of the music.

And everyone else is right, Pandora is a good music finding tool, especially if you have diverse tastes in music like me (and apparently you do).

That's the only one that stands out there for me. The Kanye West song is good but the only one of his songs that I really like is "Love lockdown".

I like the hypnotic trance like qualities of these artists but it's a little bit too much IMO. I like something with a little bit more structure.

BTW, seriously give Last.Fm a try. It's great when it throws up a song that you have heard before, you know you like(d) it but don't remember any of the lyrics, nor know the artist/title/era.

Example, today I ended up discovering Mazzy Star's Into Dust - I remember hearing it some time ago and liking it but had no way of figuring out what song it was. Now I know. Then, I also found Donovan's Season of the Witch, a song whose tune I knew very well (I think I've heard it in at least half-a-dozen movies or tv shows) but had no idea what the lyrics were (so I could never search for it).
