I keep coming back to look at this thread and contemplating another router. Card too perhaps, or should I say "more importantly"? I don't mean to hijack but this has dropped off for a few days and is totally related, especially to the routers mentioned.
I currently have this guy:
Linksys WRT320N
And this guy:
Linksys WMP300N
Both bought several years ago. Both work without any problems such as the connection going down, so they are OK in my book. But I show about #'s like 104, 130 Mbps during actual usage.
I'd like to get a faster connection to aid transfers between PC and laptop and between them both to a NAS. I see the router showing 300Mbps, sounds nice, 2 - 3 times more than what I get now. Is this a real number or do they never get that high? Or is it the NIC card itself that's holding me back?
I'm up for buying any of the routers mentioned, if they make sense. 4 ports required, and USB is a nice bonus. 300mbps sounds great right now, and I'll take more if it's affordable (let's say... $150 - $200 for router and card?)
