Assuming a 40 hour work week, that's about $13/hr + benefits. From my perspective, it sounds like a job where they'll keep you busy with WHATEVER task they can find. The pay sounds about the same as the original sales position you were going for. Tough break. If you need health or dental insurance in the next 3 months and some work experience, it might be worth considering.

I admit some of those duties don't sound too tough, but it looks like a lot of responsbility. I would hold out for at least 35k. There are other jobs out there. If they're trying to screw you over now, you won't like working there.

the only position worth the extra money would be the tech support side of it.
website maintenance and SQL. if the majority of your time is in this position, more pay is deserved. but if they are making you do easier roles as well like data entry, invoice processing, 26k/yr is ok for irvine area.

it seems like they are giving you alot of responsibilities, but they are all cake except for the website role. if during your 1st month you do all those responsibilites, but after month you solely do web maintenance, THEN i would ask for more.

$26K is about what I got when I started out of college. I only took 4 years for me to more than double that amount. Then again, I had 7 contract jobs to gain experience during that time. I say go for it and gain the experience. If they don't up your sallary, then you can move on to another company that's willing to pay more for the experience you gained.

26K in cali?
I'd be insulted if they ofered me that, especially considering the living cost.

I make that part time right now with completly flexible hours...

What is your major in?

Accounting I take it? Bachelors or Associates?

We pay our starting Public Accountants in OC around $42K out of college.

$30K seesm really low although we all need a starting point.

BS in Business Administration, no emphasis. Most electives were IT.

42k? What company?!

But its ok, 30k starting is good for me seeing how I don't have any relevant work experience.

My work experience, posted somewhere in this thread, only consists of 1.5yrs as an usher at the movies and <2 months of general office...

As well as public acccounting is quit difference from the job duties you described. But that's just my opinion. Though I hear you, I ended up taking a 12.5/hr gig at a cpa firm as an intern (sort of, I may be hired at the end of tax season, hopefully) to just get experience. Since it seems even the bloody entry level jobs want someone with 1-2 of experience. Fricking bad job market, grrr.
