Help Setting Up Gallery PHP

I'm not a very experienced user with php, mysql, etc. The most I've done is setup forums using vbulletin and other php programs but I'm having trouble setting up GALLERY, most likely because if its required plugins i.e. netpbm.

If someone who's used GALLERY could help me, I'd appreciate it.

I get the following errors in the last step:
Error: Directory /namshik/albums does not exist. Please create it.
(on the server, the folder "/namshik/albums" does exist though)

Error: Directory /temp does not exist. Please create it.
(on the server, the folder "/temp" does exist though)

Error: I can't find NetPBM at the location you provided. Gallery prefers NetPBM version 9.9 and up. You can install just the binaries Gallery needs from the Gallery Download Page. Or, you can compile and install the entire NetPBM package from the NetPBM website.
Note: You can install the binaries from the Gallery site even if you don't have root access on your box! If you can't get it working, try leaving the NetPBM path blank and using ImageMagick instead.
(i downloaded netpbmwin32.tgz, i extracted it using winzip and there was just one file. i uploaded that into the specified directly. did i do this wrong?)

Error: use_jpegtran: /namshik/gallery/bin must be a valid file (not a directory)!
(again this deals with the directly issue)

sorry i can't be of any hope. i know a few members in Off-Topic run it and it's solid.

personally i use coppermine and it was easy as hell to setup.

well i guess i can try coppermine. i think the problem im having is with the plugins like magikstick, etc. my host is 1&1 . do they have to do set this up ?

I had a hell of a time trying to get it set up, but not extremely knowledgeable about that stuff either. I don't think it suited my needs all that well either. I just needed something to make thumbnail webpages from tons of photos. I found a pretty nice free one, can't remember what it's called (I'm at work), but if you need the name, let me know.

i decided to go with coppermine and all works
