I'm pretty sure some of the harder ones require you to guess at a certain point.

EDIT: Nevermind, you're pretty much done with that one. Will try to figure it out.

EDIT2: Yeah, I'm not seeing any obvious solutions, you may have to guess and check on this one. For example, 7th column, 4th row, you know it either has to be either 5 or 8. Try guessing one of those and see where that gets you. If the puzzle doesn't work out with one of those, obviously go back and try it with the other number.

My method for being stuck is to always solve sort of "in reverse".

Write in what it CAN be based solely on the larger square, then deduce by row/column. After I get it narrowed all the way down it's fairly easy to play out a scenario in my head that DOESN'T work, thus giving me one number that brings the whole thing down.

There is usually a guess that only affects 4 or 5 squares total and it's usually the way you have to do it. As they get harder, they're more like chess where you have to think further and further ahead rather than at what's right in front of you.

Never fails, but it can make a mess if you gotta do it too early in.

Edit: Solved this one by taking a guess on the middle left square, then a guess on the top right one.

I just pencil in what numbers it could be, usually 2 or 3 per empty space. I then pick one with just two in it as a start, and circle numbers until complete or until I hit a snag. If I hit a snag, I start over and pick the other number I did not pick and that usually gets er done!

Um, I don't think any Sudoku every has more than one solution unless it was very poorly made.

But bbzzdd is blocked at work so I can't see it.

is also a valid solution.

you have two nines in row four. if we assume you meant an eight, then you have two eights in column four.
