HELP!! Soyo KT-600 plus 2.0 or Abit NF-7S Rev 1.0

Hey Guys,
I got a tech question for those of you who have a much better understanding of all this than I do. I currently have a XP 2100+ in a Abit NF7-S Rev 1.0 board. I just bought a combo with a Sempron 2400+ and a Soyo SY-KT600 Dragon plus 2.0. Do i just put the new CPU into my ABit or is there some definative advantage to the new Soyo board. My concerns are as follows:
1) The Nforce 2 on-board sound is good, how is the KT600 onboard?
2) If i install the KT600 won't I have to wipe the hard drive and start fresh?
3) Is there going to be any significant performance difference? From what I am told the Abit is a higher quality board but i believe the NF7-S rev 1.0 chipset is not as current as the KT600 chipset?

Any and all comments on this topic would be of great help. Thank you inadvance for your experience and opinion. Thx Jon.

KT600 has no advantage over NF2, you can not use dual channel.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the help. A few years ago I was very computer savvy. Sadly in about 3 years of having my attention focused elsewhere I suddenly find myself lost amid all the extraneous jargon....for instance AMDs rather confusing XP ratings. Knowing I can hop on Anandtech and hear from folks who live and breathe this stuff is the only thing that keeps me tinkering with my own hardware instead of taking everythint to s hop whenever I want to upgrade or troubleshoot. I have the same experience.
I paid less attention to the 3D Card for just half years and found myself lost in bunches of new cards.
I don't know why you will buy a sempron system to upgrade your AXP system.
Sempron's PR RATING is compared to Celeron D,and AXP's PR RATING is compared to P4.
So do you think Sempron 2400+ is always faster than AXP 2100+?

I just got a helluva deal through microcenter. New 2400+ Sempron and KT600 mobo and after rebates make $11.00 so I said what the hell. However, I just got half-life 2 ...and in addition to horrifying load times i am finding that the game seems to pause every 2 minutes or so...sort of s tutter. Really annoying. I havent had a chance to push the Sempron yet but my 2100+ ran rock-solid stable at 166x12.5. If the 2400+ can't clock that high then I will go back to my 2100+ and sell the new one with the new Mobo. I just couldn't resist steping up for free. Although maybe it is more like stepping sideways instead of up. I am using the 2400 as of about 2 hrs ago. I kept my NF7-S and just put the sempron into it. Stable. But I don't know how far she'll clock yet.

Never happened in China,HEHE.
I think it is hard for Sempron 2400+ to work under 200MHz(400MHz FSB).
So the AXP will be faster in the condition that they all run under 166.

PR rating refers to the rating AMD used,such as 2200+.

Once again I thank you for the info. So far I have the Sempron running at 12x166, and I am further experimenting with cranking it up to see where it will go. Now to hop over to the for sale forum and start listing all the spare components to sell in addition to the new mobo. Thanks again for your insight. I appreciate it. Jon
