Help this pathetic half life noob

So I bought Half Life 2 - Game of the year addition. I got it because my bro in law said Counterstrike is the best game ever and I would enjoy it.

So I installed 5 disks and now 6 gigs of my pc is taken up by stuff I have no clue how to use.

When I click on counterstrike source it asks me to pay 19.99. Same with everything else.

Where is the actual game?

I can't even find where I pick the difficulty levels.

HL2: GotY comes with CS:S so you should be able to play it. I'm not sure about the CD version of the game, but you should be able to just open up Steam and load up any of the games that are labeled with white text. Did you have to enter a CD-Key? Did you create a log-in? CS:S and HL2 both require that you have a Steam account.

I created an account and entered in a cd key


When i go to programs, counterstrike source it pops up a gray window and takes me to a tab labled store and says I can buy counterstrike for 19.99.


If I go to my games this listed

Half life 2 : Demo -100% ready
COunterstrik source - preload complete
Half life 2 -preload complete
Half life 2eathmatch -preload complete
half life source -preload complete

Maybe you should email Valve about this. I bought my game straight through Steam so I never did a CD install. Hopefully, someone else on this forum can help you too.
