!!!!HELP!!!!! Trouble starting Quake 3

After a fresh install of Quake3, on trying to run the game, I am unable to do so as it pops up with the below error. Anyone ever see something like this before and have a solution to it? Please help me out here as I am DYING to play some Q3 REAL bad!

um, are you trying to run the demo executable with the retail pak files?

That ain't supposed to be there in the retail version

EDIT: I think i know what you did. You installed the retail version, updated it to 1.17, then for some reason, intalled the q3demo into the same directory, thus creating a demoq3 folder and causing the error..
OR, You tried to copy your config file from the demo version of the game into the baseq3 dir. That might cause the problem too.

Did you do anything funky like that?

Nope ... this is a completely legit copy of retail Quake 3 that I installed. I have already reinstalled it in many different directories but to no avail.

And if anyone went out and bout a copy of Quake 3, why in the world would they end up installin the demo on their computer instead?!?! I haven't messed around with the demo version whatsoever

I have a feeling this is where the fault lies : "F:\Games\Quake III Arena/baseq3". It would be more reasonable if it were a line like F:\Games\Quake III Arena\baseq3 instead. Don't know how to fix this though.
