I got a couple of used 500/600 series gpu's, 2 570 and 1 670 of them appears to have issues.
1. Asus gtx 570, it's just black. If I recall correctly there was the regular beep, then one short slightly different beep. Kinda starting to second guess the beep on this one and may have to retry it, may have cheated with a few cables and maybe keyboard was out, but its troubleing it still doesn't give anything on monitor.
2. Kfa2 gtx 570, gives signal, boots into Windows then monitor dies and have to reset, after that Windows starts complaining about OS not booting properly and needing repair. During post I think it said VGA Bios v4111 and Version 70.10.58.00.01 (may be mistaken on some number, been a few hours). There is also a plethora of ! characters with some odd spacing inbetween. I'm suspecting someone has flashed some custom FW onto it and it's gone wrong.
3. Evga gtx 670, same as above without any signs of custom bios. Won't start Windows properly. Gets in, then goes unstable, then reset and Windows starts to complain.
I've not dealt with faulty desktop cards a lot, my laptop which sports a nvidia 800-series gpu needs rebaking every so often, signs there are artefacts, instability (i think there may have been some time, artefacts/black def most common sign) or black screen.
I'm thinking card 1 is definitely hardware issue, may be revived with bake, card 2 and 3 may be either flash gone bad or hardware issues. I'm not sure if I can be troubled with baking them as I don't really need them for use, so may just sell them as defective, but wanted to hear if someone may recognize this and had any ideas first.
I've used the same dvi cable, and same test system for all of these. Windows 8.1 64bit with nvidia 361.43. Three 680 cards appears to be working, as well as a 650ti boost (though it was tried at earlier driver version), so test system shouldn't be the issue.
Hit me with your thoughts, please, and thanks in advance!
