Search but couldn?t find if there was a thread for this year?s fantasy football. I?m a total noob but figure it would be fun to join the office league and talk some trash when I get my first win

So apparently our league is with yahoo and it?s set to the default scoring ? any tips or suggestion on how to rank the players for the autodraft? Someone mentioned that my first two picks should running backs, 3rd pick should be WR, and 4th QB since there are plenty of ?good enough? QBs out there.

Any other tips for a noob?

OT: one of the guys in my $200/person fantasy baseball league did autodraft based on CBS's default ranking and he's in 4th place (out of 8).

cause I don't know a lot of the players, just some of the big name ones ... I guess I can always do my hw and come up with some sort of cheat sheet beforehand then it might work.

for yahoo's scoring, then is right to try and opt for RBs as my first 2 picks, then WR, QB, WR, DST, and kicker last ... order-wise?

Look up the term "value based drafting". You don't necessarly need to draft rb-rb in the first two rounds. Go with best player available during the draft. You shouldn't be drafting a kicker or defense until round 10 at the very earliest.

Consider using the "opposite" drafting method, going wr-wr in the first two rounds. You can always get good values in rounds 3-5 for your starting running backs.

Start from there, you're welcome.

This plays a huge part in it as well.

What he said.

rb-rb in the first two rounds is sort of standard. Depending on where your pick is, you might be better off drafting say, Manning, instead of a borderline RB.

One thing that helps is to look at mock drafts based on the same number of teams as your league. Look at the first two rounds for the whole league. Then look at a team at a similar position as yours and see what decisions they faced in rounds 1-8 or so.

After 8 rounds it's largely a crap shoot....

yeah, I took a look at the pre-set rankings from yahoo and they look good already! haha, I'm so dead.

I'm going to mess around w/ the mock draft and see what happens

is it for money? you should really do a bit of research. you can start with the default rankings of players and then pick and choose from what you've read. shouldn't be too bad
