Hello everyone. I just performed a whole bunch of upgrades last night.
Basically, I decided to move onto Vista Ultimate 64. So, I got a new Seagate 1 Terrabyte drive (32 MB cache...freakin' fast!) for a fresh install and added an EVGA GTX 260. You can see the rest of my LAN Box down below.
Well, I started stressing and benchmarking last night...everything was fine, no problems. But I noticed that my scores in 3DMark Advantage were a little low. So, I started poking around my system and, using CPUZ, I found that my multiplier setting was 6! 6? I thought it should be at 8, correct?
Anyway, with a multiplier of 6, this makes my Q9450 run well below its stock 2.66 speed. What the f$%*? Is there a way to change this? I've been looking all through my BIOS, but can't figure out how to change my multiplier...this is VERY frustrating and concerning to me.
Can I be damaging my processor? Or, more alarmingly, is my processor already damaged? Any clues on how to get my multiplier back to 8 as it should be?
Any help would be MOST appreciated...thanks for any suggestions!
