Booting from the W2K CD and you don't see the "R" option? Try a Win9x boot disk, copy the "edit" program to the disk as well, if you have one and start with CD support, look around you C:\ drive (if its FAT and not NTFS) for the NTLDR, use the edit command/program to open it up, copy down whats in there and then save as NTLDR2, then open a new file and type in all the same stuff, save as NTLDR and exit. Now if you can't access your HDD because its NTFS then go to the HW solutions a hope. If you can't access your HDD and its FAT then you may have a bad drive. Try to reboot. If you can't even boot to disk then there is a major HW problem, reseat your CPU and check to make sure your PS is functioning correctly. Wish you luck.

10 whole bucks. Wow. Just kidding.
Remove everything from your rig that is not crucial. In other words, only have a video card in there, and a stick of the newest ram that you have, HDD etc.... Try to boot from your 2K CD and repair. Post back with your results. Worst case scenario, you may need to buy a copy of Partition magic, or equivalent that reads NTFS5 partitions. That is if you converted your drives to NTFS5. PM could convert your partitions to FAT so you could retrieve some information before you have to do format/reload. I think PM 5.5 reads NTFS5 partitions.

Have you tried running Scanreg? You may just have a chuncky registry that got some bad entries. Scanreg will restore a previous (bootable) version. I'm not 100% sure you can run scanreg from a 98 boot disk but it's a dos utility. I'm positive windows 2000 has something like that (if not that) that can be run in the boot loader or something, not sure though. Good luck

I know.. $10 doesn't justified the amount of info that i need to save from the HDD but i am tight on money ...
anyhow i seemed to sort of fix the problem... this is what i have done...
I boot it up using a win98 CD inorder to go to the hard drive from there i realized that it's not reconginizing my SCSI HDD which is my C drive where all the system files are located. So i reboot and pressed F2 to get into my scsi card bio setup.. from there I enable an option called Send Start Command for my hard drive and ran a verify disk utility from the bio from that i started hearing my HDD running.. and exit from the bio and BAM!! I am up and running right now
However when I try to burn a back up of my information the testing speed on Nero failed on my scsi HDD and on my ATA 100 HDD therefore i couldn't burn my back up. could this be a problem with the motherboard? the controller card?
Then I want to see if i disable the Send Start Command would it happened again.. and IT DID i never enable that command until now and i have been running this hard drive for close to 7 months now.. any reason for this to happen now? Is my HDD dying?
BTW thanx for all you guy's help
