yes i know that.. try my suggestions anyway..
since W2K assigns all your PCI devices on the same IRQ (IRQ11)
and you've stated that the error

<< .. it says something about IRQL... >>

someone on this forums suggested me to install SP's and disable ACPI it works for me...

considering o/c ing:
if you want to reach high clocks:multiplier
faster overall performance:FSB

hope this helps

btw, the IRQL error doesn't have to do with assigned IRQ's. This happens when a kernel mode process or driver attempts to access a memory address that it doesn't have access to. It's usually a driver issue, but when overclocking, kernal process errors (i.e. the guts of windows) are pretty common.

I have to say, 1680 is damn high. You usually only get that with watercooling. Anything in the high 1600's with air cooling is pretty rare, and if you are using air cooling your case probably sounds like a few vacuum cleaners. I assume you are using a Black label fan for this monster o/c?

You o/c by changing the multiplier first, then tweak the FSB. See how fast you go, then drop the multiplier down by .5 and see how far you can up the FSB. See which one is better (in actual benchmarks). Multiplier won't screw up your system cards or memory, but increasing FSB speeds up everything. A 1600 o/c with FSB will run faster overall than a 1600 you got from just multiplier o/cing. But you might have better benchmarks at say 1550 with FSB oc/ing than a 1600 you got with straight multipliers.

What is your fastest STABLE o/c? I mean by running stuff like Prime95 or 3dmark2001 at demo with high resolution for a few hours?

hehe.. i should take some pics..

i did a case mod with 3 120mm delta fans @130 cfm right on top of the cpu and vid.

im using a alpha 6035 with a 30cfm 60mm fan on it. the lowest ive seen at default was 38 C. 42 at full load. (when its cold.)

when its hot its 43 - 47 C.

when OCing at 1680 cold its 43. but this is at default everything, the only thing i change is the FSB.

air cooling your case probably sounds like a few vacuum cleaners LMAO, no comment..

if i can boot into windows id be set..

i tried the ACPI.. nothing yet, i tried raising the voltage and comp restarts at the dos win2k bootup window.

its at 10.5 mult. and i changed it to 11 and it keeps going coo coo. i want to find exactly where in the bios that im supposed to enter in the 1/5th pci divider so that i dont get 45mhz on my SC and NIC, lol.

just because it boots does not mean that it is stable...if you're getting errors in windows...that means you need to back down your OC.

lol....try lowering your multiplier a lil...sinister...also run prime95 if you do boot up into windows...that way, you'll know for sure whether you have a solid stable speed.
