HELP!!! Win2K keeps logging me off immediately :(

Hey people. If anybody can help me with this, I will be INFINTELY grateful.

So from one reboot to the next, when I go to log into my Win2K (SP2) system, as soon as I put in the correct password, I get the "Loading personal settings..." message. As soon as that goes away, I get the "Saving personal settings..." message and then get booted back to the log on screen (ie, behaving as if I just logged off). So I assume something is automatically logging me out of the system! What could it be!? And more importantly, how can I fix it!?

I have not seen that particular problem myself but have some ideas. Did you try to logon as a different user or as the local administrator? Also have you tried to boot into safe mode?

I was upgrading the HDD, I installed the HDD and format it under the existing win2k pro, booted into ghost, partition dump the old win2k to the new HDD, reboot using the win2k in the new HDD and copy some data from the old HDD, shutdown and disconnect the old HDD, boot into win2k again and it log me out right after I login

It turns out after the first reboot, win2k made some changes to the new HDD to instruct the system to look for the profiles in the old HDD, So after the 2nd reboot, the new win2k cannot find the profile and log me out immediately . So I reghost the new HDD and boot without the old HDD attached, all solved.
