I have this old Intel 975X mobo that I am trying to get to work. It is able to access the bios and settings, but beyond that I am having no luck. It can see the DVD R/W drive and even a USB thumb drive I had plugged in during startup. I decided not to go with a floppy disk but I am thinking of installing one just to get this machine to boot and install the bios or XP. I know if I can get one to install I can get the other. I think I have a great system and it is somthing that I am missing. I have only built four systems in the past. This has me confused and wondering what have I missed? Why is this thing not booting from the optical drive or the USB? Any suggestions from all you system builders? Thanks. The system: Intel D975XBX2, Intel C2Q 6600, WD Caviar 400GB. Corsair XMS DDR 800 2GB, e-VGA 7950 GT KO 512 MB, Pioneer DVR 1810, OCZ 650 PSU, Antec Nine Hundred case. It will post, but not boot to DVD drive. I want to load OS.
