Yes, using my Phenom 965BE and a power supply.

No, but I'll look a little.

I plan on OVERCLOCKING. Not a lot. Maybe bumping the 3.4 Ghz up to 3.8 Ghz. Anand got that on the stock cooler.

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
N/A - I don't plan on gaming with it.

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
ASAP. I have all this stuff in my NEWEGG cart.

Get a cheap video card, HD 4350 or 4650

Get the Gigabyte MA785GMT, or the MA770T with a cheap vidcard. 790GX is a waste if you aren't going to Crossfire.

Xigmatek HSFs mount the wrong way (up/down) on AMD motherboards. The Mugen-2 blows air correctly out the back. (So does the Core Contact Freezer, but that doesn't have as good a mounting solution.)

Also, is there any point to paying more for DDR3 1600 instead of DDR3 1333?

the phenom 2 memory controller is optimized for ddr3 1333 and tight timings. cas6 or 7. also, what resolution are you running, because the 790gx is really only good up to maybe 1600x1050, then it has memory bandwidth issues and the like.

I'm currently at 1280x1024 on my 17" DELL LCD, but I wouldn't rule out going to a larger monitor at some point. Thanks for the tip.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up about the RAM. I'll get some CAS 7 DDR3 1333 then.
