I really didn't know where to put this message - here or "Off-topic".
Here's my situation. Not all forums are friendly places, unfortunately. I ran a poll at a forum I use, and learned that fully one-third of the members feel they have the right to use profanity and vulgarity, flames and insults. You may ask why I continue going there, but it is a unique resource.
I want to change my 80 x 80 avatar .gif to an "antiprofanity" message, but I don't know just where to begin. I can draw a .gif freehand. I can take a body, cut off the head, make it greyscale, and then put a word balloon coming from its mouth with "profane symbols" (#, %, &, etc.) I would like to do something like this, and flash the internatianally recognized "banned" symbol (the red circle with the diagonal slash through the middle) over this image, maybe flashing on and off as an animated gif to draw more attention. But I don't know how.
I visited a dozen free clipart sites tonight, and everyone of them wanted me to sign up and give fill out forms before they would let me browse free clipart for this project. As I said, I could cut a head from a body, reduce it to the right scale and turn it to greyscale, make the word balloon and add the "text", and make the red circle/slash symbol. But I really don't know much about all of this, just the basics. And I've never tried my hand at an animated .gif, I really don't even know what it is. I imagine its just a few .gif files with a time delay between them that flash on and off in sequential fashion. I haven't looked it up.
I have Macromedia Fireworks MX, which I know how to use, and Adobe Photoshop 7.0, which I don't know how to use. Is there anyone out there who feels strongly enough about eliminating vulgarity and rudeness to help me (or just someone interested in giving me a hand)?
My email is jeffreygson2@yahoo.com. I check it daily at least.
Thank you in advance
