so i need a bit of help. I am in the process of changing jobs, and i am finding i need to get some more certifications so i can prove i can do the jobs.

I got my a+ last week (took both tests) and now i am working on my net+ I know for this project i am building it wont be to relevant, however i am getting my security+ afterwords and i am assuming thats where this will come in.

So here is where i messed up. i convinced my wife to buy me some computer parts. I traded a friend a pair of 750gb 2.5" sata hard drives for an Ibm x3650 (7979). It was stripped. I bought 3x 146gb 15k sas drives, 3x drive trays, 3 fillers, 2x heat sinks, a vrm, dual Xeon 4530's and 12x 4gb ddr2 667 ECC FB memory.

I installed windows 2012r2 server. (i did all of this at work) and then today i brought it home!

and thats where the problems started. One she did not like the size of it. She was expecting a workstation. Two i turned it on. It was too loud for her (even though the fans spin down after a bit, but is still louder then my home system)

So this is where i need help. I have two cases that support Extended atx motherboards.

What i need help with is power supply, motherboard and heatsinks that will fit but will be relatively quite.

For motherboard i am looking at a budget of 40 to 50 shipped:

I have my eyes on this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SuperMicro-...478?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf931a2c6

but when looking at a powersupply it is requesting a 24pin +4pin 12v and +8pin 12v. I have seen powersupplies with one but not both. looking to spend $40 to $50

edit: dumb question but can the 8pin power adapter for a video card work for the 8 pin connector on the motherboard? pin outs are reversed for the negtives..

next i need heatsinks. I would like to do $20 or less(each). i am planning on going with dual 5430's but not overclocking)

ill figure out hard drives at a later point.

I've got a 771 board/processor/heatsink/power supply setup I can sell you for cheap. If you're interested, PM me. I've got a suitable RAID controller for the SAS drives too. LOL.

I will warn you though, these 771 setups use a LOT of power and generate a LOT of heat. Expect to have to pull half your RAM out if using a consumer PC case to prevent overheating.
