help with headset w/ a mic

i just killed my cheap headphones by accident(vacuum cleaner)....So now I'm lookin for a good pair with a mic.
I'de like to stay under a $100.00 US dollars....And I only use this for gaming (UT 2K4) along with teamspeak....So yall help me out here...

What I do is go to Walmart and buy the $10 pair with a mic on them. I've actually tested them against $100 pair and the $10 worked way better. They didn't have as much bass but the $10 has more clear crisp sound and better directional sound, which is good.

I agree, but if you do want a real nice pair of headphones the Sennheiser PC 150 is the way to go. The $10 WalMart specials do work just as well as most, but trust me the sennheiser's are way nicer for the money.

Depends on what you are using it for.

For a professional broadcast, the Sennheiser is a much better choice.

For most everything else ... although I'd avoid Wal-Fart, but that's personal preference

I'd say it also depends on how you are going to use the headphones...if you are going to use them as your primary source of gaming sound you will want something better than the walmart set.

I personally just got the PC-150s from Sennheiser and besides they being goofy looking, big headphones they produce excellent sound!

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. The Sennheiser PC 150s are not worth the money. I have personally tested them myself for a long time and I know this for a fact. You're pretty much wasting $40 on a name.

If you don't like "WalFart" go to Target or some other store that sells stuff for cheap.

And yet again I must disagree with you sir....the Sennheiser's are much nicer then any $10 pair of headphones. I don't think your ears are cleaned out enough if you can't tell the diference, I guess maybe that's why they are made for someone who is more towards the side of being an audiophile.

drivers are not pressed against your ear, there's a few millimeteres of free space. Sound quality is quite good. Paid $24.99 at beast-buy.

Oh, I jsut remembered! If you hurry and preorder BF2 you get a free set of Logitech Headphones with a mic on em. That's what I did.
