Help With New Build

Looking for some advice on a new PC gaming build.

1. Used mainly for gaming and home office stuff. I play WoW Retail/Classic Wow and ARPGS mostly. I would also like to play new stuff when it comes out like CyberPunk and whatever.

2. Budget is around $1500 US Dollars

3. Buying parts in the US (Oregon). Online or I have a Frys about an hour away if you guys think that might be the best bet.

4. I don't have a brand preference. Best bang for the buck preferably.

5. Parts I have. I have a sealed Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SSD. Should be good yea?

6. No overclocking.

7. My current monitor is an Asus PB238 1080p monitor. I would love to try my hand in 1440p @144hz gaming but my guess is adding a monitor capable of those settings within this budget is out? Maybe one of those Pixio 1440p monitors? Thoughts on this would be great. If I have to get the monitor later down road that works too as long as the system itself is capable.

8. I plan to build next week. If I drive to Frys it would be next Friday.

9. No software is needed.

You will have to use the bios flashback feature of the motherboard.
Should probably get an AMD card instead due to freesync

So after some research I decided to take your advice on the AMD and wait for one of the custom cooled 5700xt cards.

My question is about the PSU you recommended above. Still go with the Thermaltake 750? Also is there anything else you would change if I go with the AMD card?

I've purchased everything except the mobo and video card. Guess MSI is releasing a "MAX" version of that motherboard that will support 3rd gen CPUs out of the box. Not a big deal really but since I'm waiting for the video card anyway why not.

I decided to go with the MSI Optix MAG271CQR Gaming Monitor .

So apparently the Asrock B450 Steel Legend is shipping with updated bios from Amazon with Ryzen 3000 support. Reviews seem ok on this board. Any thoughts or input on this board?

Was able to get one of the Sapphire 5700xt Pulse cards before they sold out. Everything is purchased and expected to arrive before the weekend. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Everything is up and running

The Asrock b450 did NOT ship with the new bios I ended up just returning it and picking up the ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) from Bestbuy so I didn't have to wait any longer.

Multiple BSOD issues since the build has been up. The latest one being Stop Code: CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION . Uhg...here we go :/

You can try this utility to see if it can narrow down what is causing the crashes: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

You can also take a look at Windows reliability monitor to see if you can see anything there.

Did you clean install Win10, or are you using the install from your previous build?

Thanks, I did a clean install. Had a couple bluescreens, and did a reset. Only one BSOD since reset but I'm guessing Windows 10 reset wasn't a good idea.

I'll look over those links and see what I can come up with.

Did a clean install and I noticed I had a failed installation warning for the chipset drivers. I noticed the same warning before the reformat too...but wonder why it's reporting failed.

Yea those are the ones. Tried the ones from Asus before this last reformat but I believe they are the same ones. They gave me the same warning too.
