@CrowDog

If the chipset drivers failed, they should produce a log file to chronicle it. I know AMD's graphics drivers do.

I did a fresh install a couple days ago. The only drivers I installed are the chipset drivers and gpu drivers directly from AMD. The rest of the drivers are from Microsoft.This time I did not install anything from the Asus website.

No blue screens in 2days *knocks on wood*.

I had some Asus software cause BSOD on my system a few years ago. It was a network printer sharing app as I recall.

Spoke too soon, another bluescreen last night Was just surfing the web and got the bluescreen Stop Code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION. Bluescreenview is showing it caused by the ntoskrnl.exe driver.

This Friday when I have the day off I will take everything out of the mobo and reseat everthing. I guess I'll also update the bios to the latest release.

So the bugcheck code that bluescreenview is reporting is 0x0000003b. According to the MS Error Codes this is related to a network error. But as you can see from this screen shot the name attached to the code doesn't match what I am getting:

"ERROR_UNEXP_NET_ERR" is not SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION obviously. So why would the error code not match the error? I wonder if I should try disabling onboard WiFi and Bluetooth.

EDIT* Just realized those are Win32 error codes....scratch this whole post , I'm clearly confused

Tried 19.7.5, started getting blackscreens along with my bluescreens. Thinking about returning the 5700 xt Pulse and getting a 2070 Super....if I can even find one in stock. What a pain

I would try a new PSU before the new video card. An 850W (or possibly a 750W) should suffice.

Oh, in that case, if the PSU is new, then it shouldn't be that.

Just commenting that in another thread, someone had a slightly older PSU, and added a RX 5700 XT, I think it was, and was having "black screen" issues. But they were also having cold-boot issues, where they would have to leave the PSU off for 30 minutes before it would boot. So, absent any other PSU-related weirdness like that, I guess tentatively (pending an actual PSU swap), it could be moved down the list of things to test.

Well he also had chipset driver install errors as well. I think something else is wrong besides the GPU, not to diminish the problems some folks have had with Navi.

I think he has a new Corsair TX850M?

Yea, things have been stable since this morning, about 10hrs of playing tons of games with no issues. I updated to the latest display drivers , 19.8.1 "August 20th". Not sure why they re-released the same driver and just dated it later. The first one I was using before was the same version 19.8.1, with a release of August 1st.......odd and confusing.
