hope you are kidding, but in case you are not here are my suggestions
1. start with phantom menace, then go to attack of the clones, (clone wars animated) then revenge of sith, then starwars new hope, empire strikes back, and finally return of jedi.
2. if you sorta know the storyline then you can start the way everybody else watched them, new hope, empire, return of jedi followed by phantom, clone, and sith.
OMG!! That's not the line!!Originally posted by: LoKe
I don't know why anyone would watch it 123, 456 because you'd go from great effects to... lesser effects. It's not like your missing out on any important information. In fact, it's more entertaining that way (Luke, I am your father). Watching it 123, 456 would ruin a few things, IMO.

So I never watched any Star Wars, originals, new ones, none. I know, now your questioning how it is I belong here. In earth that is. Well I was wondering if you can help me pick the first one to watch, or the actual order to watch them. How many are there anyway?
What movie doesn't have plot holes?Originally posted by: MonkeyFeces

I didn't read the entire thread, but I wouldn't recommend watching the series, unless you like plot holes as wide as goatse.cx(warning sexual content).

Also, make sure you watch the widescreen verions. None of the full screen crap!Originally posted by: nadirshakur
Ok I am starting, I think I will go 456123. Thanks, will let you know what I think.
Or the change to the blue group scene at the end of Return of the Jedi!Originally posted by: TrandM
456 vhs then 123 dvd. the 456 dvd set makes some changes to the story that also will ruin some suprises. And some of them are stupid. Like the changes in the cantina scene with Han and the Bounty Hunter...
That makes no sense! We already knew going into RotS that Vader was Anakin Skywalker and that he is Luke's father. What good would it have been to act as if he died? The only people that ruins it for are those who watch it in the wrong order, because then they won't be surprised!Originally posted by: crownjules
Anyone arguing to watch them in order and calls themselves a Star Wars fan needs to re-evaluate themselves. Watch them in the order they came out in: 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. Why?
SPOILER - For those who haven't
Lucas messed up big time in the prequels, but especially with RotS. No longer is it a complete surprise that, in ESB, we find out that Vader is Luke's father. I remember watching Empire for the first time and that line absolutely blew me away. There's a reason why many people call it one of the biggest lines in movie history, and Lucas completely ruined it by showing us Anakin's transformation to Vader. He should have left us thinking Anakin died near the river of lava.

OT seems to turn a simple Star Wars thread into a fvck'n flamefest.

You have to watch them in the order they were released if you want to enjoy the biggest surprises in the series. There's no other way.
However, I'd like to see you watch them in numerical order just to see what you think. Be a guinea pig!
