Check to make sure the motherboard isn't grounding on the case, try running the PC outside of the case, with just the RAM, Vid Card, CPU. If that doesn't work, try removing the RAM, Vid Card, and CPU one by one to see if the motherboard is throwing back the proper beep codes (check manual), if it isn't then your motherboard's DOA.

Also, make sure the pin headers are connected correctly to your board, the postive/negative terminals of it.

Another thing on that power supply, sounds a little generic to me actually. I would not run it with all that $$ equipment. Replace it with an Antec or Enermax instead IMHO.

This may sound dumb but do you have both of the power supplies plugged in on the motherboard? The regular ATX and the additional 4 slded square power plug close to the CPU. Sorry, but I forget the name of that power plug. The first time I came across that my board would not start and I was a bit thrown off.

alright, thanks so far.

the Case is compatible with the motherboard i called up both DFI and ATOP support. so the power supply shouldnt be an issue. as for the power supply the motherboard is recieving power the internal standy by LED is lit up when i plug it in and turn it on. i need to check my mother board to see if its grounding which sounds like its the problem since theres nothing between the motherboard and the case so the motherboard is making contact with the cases' panel. will also run those test and will get back to yall in a little bit with an update, again thanks for all the helpful info

You do not need a zip or floppy but they do come in handy. I have both in my system.

Sure your motherboard may be receiving power but that does not mean the power supply will work with your system. Do this, take the motherboard out of the case and only have enough hooked up to boot. Hard drives/cdroms/nic, etc not needed. Short the pins with a flat screwdriver and try to boot it. If it still does not work, I would vote that your power supply is not good enough for your system. You should use a name brand such as Antec or Enermax.

well i got it to work, the system was grounding which was causing it not to turn on. i was ok, everything was fine until i saved/exited the cmos bios, now it'll make 3 beeping noises and shut off. cant even open the cd drive to get my windows xp disk. i think i might have put a wrong setting in the bios is there any way to get that fixed?

thanks

Get your mobo manual and look for "clearing the CMOS". Likely there will a little jumper near the cmos (round watch-type) battery. The instruction will likley tell you to unplg the pc, move the jumper over, leave that way for about 5 seconds. Then return it the original position and plug back in and reboot.

The problem now is its not finding the hard drive...

You may need to install the SATA drivers. Watch during bootup, you may need to hit "F6" or something, then load the drivers.

/nods,

Yep Boomerang is right,

Called The Hard Drive place and they told me what plugs to put on the Hard Drive and to do something else... But if it doesn't work, then i will need a floppy disk drive.

And if so... i Believe i need to load the following flobby's:

Raid Driver
For Intel ICH5R (V. 3.5)
Rev. B

Then

HighPoint 372 N
RAID Driver (V 2.345)
Rev. 2

I believe, thoses flobby's disks came with the MotherBoard, The Hard Drive didn't bring anything..just the Hard drive itself..

After looking through the manual for your board, I need to correct my earlier post.

You may need the ICH5R floppy. The Highpoint controller controls the 2 IDE ports at the bottom right of the board.

I say you may need, because the chipset that controls your SATA ports is supported natively by the BIOS. You would definately need the disk if you were setting up a RAID array.

According to your manual, you do not need to do anything special in the BIOS to boot off a single SATA drive. I would suggest however, that you read through the BIOS section of the manual and post back with any questions.

Also, make sure Hyper-Threading is enabled in your BIOS before you install your OS. You can not enable it afterwards. It will require a reinstall of the OS.
