i have chrons. changing my diet is not recommended, and i have already done so by eating the last bits of whatever dried stuff i had. half the pop goes to work, as i owe the guy i work with. and the bottled water is a must. the tap water again is just too hard on my intestines. i know it sounds pussy but its not... water has a big impact on how my immune system responds.

That it is I spend all my time working and finishing up my Master's Degree so I don't have alot of acquaintances after moving up here a year and a half ago. So it's cool to meet a fellow ATOTer!

There's more of course

Ausm is around here somewhere, YoYoHowsDaJello I believe is in Verona now, and HomeBrewerDude is in this *region* at least. Gigantopithecus works at the UW I believe. I'm pretty sure we have a few other Madisonites around too!

thats awesome. i moved here exactly 1 year 9 months ago myself. job outlook was better, even if it took this long to finally get a decent one. ill be fine after this summer... itll be paycheck to paycheck until then though.

How did this happen in first place, did you lose your job, or lot of stuff happened at same time that you needed to expense on? (emergency house repairs etc)

What I'd seriously do is if it's not too late, SELL the house instead of letting it go in foreclosure, at least you'll get some profit out of it. Then buy a trailer or a really crappy cheap house somewhere. People laugh at trailers, but unlike an apartment, you still OWN it. You can sell it later when things are better and at least break even or maybe make profit (not really sure what the market is for those tbh). If I was in a bad situation and had to sell my house that's what I'd do. Even before going back to live with my parents.

Keep your head up, I'm sure things will turn around.

Unlikely if the house was purchased recently. Home values around WI have yet to recover after the market crash. I know a local home that sold for $150k 6 years ago, is now on the market again for ~$115.

This, most of my friends here in Stoughton who bought at the peak of the housing bubble here lost 50-70K on their home and with one exception, they are all underwater on them These are all new home owners though (latest buyer was 2004)

thanks man. i should be fine. i have plenty of food now, and gas money isnt hard to ask for (i dont know why food is for me, but it is).

the battery trick was perfect. it almost makes you wonder if walmart will start drawing from paypal as a service. like the $3 refill on your card thing... i would gladly have paid $3 to load $40 onto a walmart card. but i guess this is even better since i get cash back.

I got a question to ask do you think you were living with in your means? You said you maxed out 5 credit cards which means that just does not happen over night. I just shake my head at that type of stuff people do. So what is your plan to fix all of this?

fixing up my house is why im past the point of rescue, but i cant sit here and say im great at managing money either. this thread sort of proves that. i really should have put that cash into my tank, but i do feel good and i still feel like if i really have to ill just ask my boss for a loan.

He probably got it online cheaper than they sell it in the store. If you bring it in without the receipt, you get the store price for a refund.

um.. no. that would be stealing wouldnt it?

you just order something online for instore pickup. they let you use paypal. my paypal debit card is expired, so i have no way to pay for anything in real life. go to walmart, pick up your item then take it to customer service for a return. they give you cash back.

this.

however...

the battery trick can go way thicker if you want it too..

it can go to the point of you picking up the batts, and walking straight to the return desk.. i dont condone that.. but, it can happen.

?? i just went to the customer service desk first, and i told the girl "i bought these online (showed paper) and theyre the wrong size. can i get store credit instead?"

she just said "um, yea go to site to store in the back and they will give you the batts. bring them here and i can give you credit"

that was that. but she gave me cash. she questioned it a little, she wanted to know how i paid. once she knew it was paypal, it made sense to her why i get cash back. i guess its not possible for walmart to refund a paypal purchase...

ok.. so i can just go in there and have them pay me for taking their own batteries to customer service? thats not exactly how i sleep at night! all i wanted to do was get cash out of my paypal account. i pretty much whored out walmart to do it, but i didnt steal anything.

cooking the meat i bought.. aldi is in the news for horsemeat in their lasagna.. how much do you think is in their ground beef?
