Hey everyone, well I don't exactly know how to explain the situation so...I'll just start describing what happened..

I was trying to OC my Opteron 170 (has a Scythe Ninja), and I was following the instructions that Eclipse on ardforum posted. I completed the first two steps and then decided that I was just going to run a ram divider, as I don't have a floppy drive installed, so when I found out the max my CPU and HTT could do (which was 2.4ghz), I went into BIOS and set it to 235 (I had an error in prime95 at 2.4 but at 235 I was fine), set the ram divider, saved to CMOS, and then tried to boot into windows. Then it restarts (usual) and nothing shows up on the monitor, I was getting a "No Signal", it happened once before, so I just turned of the computer and it worked fine then, and now its still saying "No Signal"

I swapped in my old Geforce 2 MX 400 and still I get a "No Signal"

I would assume from here its a processor related issue?

Anything that can help is appreciated!
Thanks

I take it you are running an AGP card? Did you make sure that your board locks the clocks? I know in this old PIII system I'm running, it doesn't, which means as you raise the FSB (or the HTT on your system) the AGP clock raises as well, and can simply be too much for the card. The Radeon 7000 I have in there handles it, but I had an old Triton card that simply couldn't.

On your motherboard, you have to change the AGP bus speed from 66 Mhz to 67 Mhz to lock the AGP bus; there is no other way to do it. Also, you'll have to have all of your SATA HD's/anything else on either the #3 or #4 SATA ports. I'm almost positive that #'s 1 & 2 aren't locked on any of the nForce 3 boards. I know they weren't on my MSI Neo Platinum (the original, not the Neo2). BTW, there's an A64 overclocking guide at the top of this forum, that gets more hits than any other overclocking guide anywhere. You should probably check it out.

edit: Oops, I forgot to tell you that the first thing you'll have to do is reset your BIOS, by removing the cord from the power supply, and removing the CMOS battery for about 20-30 minutes.

I'll make sure to change that if I ever overclock again ><

I tried taking out the battery, but I didn't unplug the power from the motherboard, does that make a difference? I'll give it another try when I get home...
