My friend is buying a new gaming PC, but he isn't one to build things. I figure cyberpower is a good site to buy prebuilt? He want's to stay under $1500 if possible, but I'm not sure he can and meet his wants:
1. 4k-capable video card and support up to 3 monitors (4k gaming on one monitor though)
2. ~256GB SSD, and a 2TB HDD
3. Does not need keyboard/mouse/headset/monitor
4. 16GB memory
I'm thinking most of the money should go to the video card if 4k is his dream, a GTX1080 at least, but that eats a lot of the $. Better to go lower on other components and jump to a 1080ti? Not sure if we can squeeze that into the build though. I'll see how flexible he is on the price.
I've been out of the loop for a bit, but the i5 8400 is about the same performance as a 1700x, is that correct? I think they are about the same price with MBs considered. Either of those setups I think will necessitate a 1080 if not a 1070, cost-wise. Advice appreciated!
Btw, he will play a little bit of everything, from AAA shooters to city-builders.
