How you see the world determines how you react to it. Here is a view of how conservatives perceive the world.

How accurate does it seem to you? What if your fundamental assumptions are wrong?

See if you can react to the link data and not to your feelings about me or don't as you wish.

So you think the idea that america is degenerating to zombies, celebrity worshippers, sexualized children, super feminists, snitch neighbours, thought police, brown bagers, banbossies, fake civil rights advocates (example: promoting gay rights but criticising gun rights) is just an assumption?

Further to the right, the “degenerating world” theme grows even stronger. Commentators have described Glenn Beck’s television program as having an ethos of “extreme doom and pessimism.” Even an anchor from Beck’s own conservative outlet, the Fox News Channel, called Beck’s show “the Fear Chamber.”

If conservatives fear that human morality is deteriorating, then the political left is well known for its hope that human nature will improve.

It seems like a longwinded bag of fertilizer! I tried to read a few pages, but it just keeps going and it is pointless. It reads like a manifesto. When it started talking about Goldwater, I thought no one under 60 will even care what it says. Blah Blah Blah!

Yes, their thought process is motivated by fear. Of course fear comes in all sorts of degrees, from unconscious (which is what we are talking about here) to -you just witnessed a man kill your woman in cold blood and now he has the gun pointed at your head.

It's a good trait to have, especially in business but it's not a good trait, IMO, when it comes to governing.

Pretty much an assumption on your part apparently.

I thought someone had locked you up, I guess not

Why is it bs pigeon holing? One of your basic tenets, it seems to me, is that both sides are pretty much the same, I objectively partisan. This has been studied scientifically and demonstrated not. To be true. How do you know the science is wrong. Could it be just an uninformed opinion baste on some unconscious need?

Wow, I really think you are on vacation. This lazy speech recognition software exposes what must be non stop excitement.

Strange how "non-self-interested" folk can be relied upon to vote for themselves more individual benefits every single chance they get.

I'm on an iPad and pe and fix, type and fix. I don't use voice soft wear because if folk hear me posting I might get locked away. After a while of it I just say fuck it. Will have a proper keyboard, god willing, in a few days. Gotta go see if I can find the new dr who.

You didn't get to be the neurotic paranoid you are by being happy.

Sure you can, why would you think you can not be paranoid and happy?

Just because I sleep with an AR-15 next to my bed does not mean I am not happy. I just like to be prepared.

Of course, but that is your prison. Believing and acting out rationalizations, living in a bubble, voting in one, is failing to act responsibly, a trait conservative don't practice, but rave about when they see that side of themselves in others. Self awareness is a perquisite of wisdom.

I live in a bubble that is far more understanding than the Iron bubble you place yourself in. You have limited you rationalizations to the point of being irrational. It's sad really to see you destroy yourself. Unfortunately you only see one side and condemn anyone who is a conservative to the extent you are really the one who is in prison.

It was an interesting read. I agree that I have much fear, and am motivated by it. Guess I could never be a Jedi eh?

But is it wrong? It seems like a natural evolution of our species. How do you perceive nature? Is it something valuable, or should it be overwitten and overcome?

I for one don't think that fear is a horrid motivator. The saying "necessity is the mother of invention" comes to mind. There's a fair chunk of the population that could use some motivation, rather than sucking the welfare teat...

I gave you what the science has shown, that conservatives are more adapt at bubbling up than liberals. Sorry, but your opinion is not supported with real world data.

Liberals are significantly more prone to anxiety and depression. Conservatives are more goal-seeking. Here's the study.

Anyway...some say that Jonathan Haidt is much more intellectually honest on this subject.

I agree with your points and I agree with Haidt. I have on ego to protect. The chips are as they fall in a fact based world. This is my liberal brain in action, honest in evaluating things.
