That bitch murdered someone and the maximum sentence is only 11.5 years?
You guys really don't understand the legal definition of murder, do you?

It's not murder if there's no intent.
Semantics. Bottom line. The dumb bitch got drunk, got in a car and as a result, someone is dead. She knew that driving while drunk is not only illegal, but stupid (anyone claiming otherwise lives under a rock or is an idiot)
It's not semantics, it's a different charge altogether. If your point is saying her sentence was too light, you're talking about a sentence for negligent homicide, not murder. I understand your point in saying you feel she murdered someone, but according to law, that's not murder, its NH/Manslaughter. (causing death without specific intent).
I think ten years might be enough. You can't bring back the dead, so it really depends on whether or not 10 years is enough time to prevent her from being a danger to society, and it just may be. The intent of the legal system is protecting the populace and deterring others, not getting revenge. It all depends on the person.
I once worked with a guy who served 14 years for murder, and he wasn't the least bit remorseful, nor did he obey the law despite being on parole. 14 years was not enough to fix him, and that's why sentences are so subjective. Some get too little, some get too much. The system is screwed.
