It's not that shocking when you consider that Arts & Entertainment shows yokels buying junk from storage lockers, the History Channel shows a bunch of slobs working in a pawn shop, and the Learning Channel shows a talking pig fueled by Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

Given that, it's shocking that Cooking Channel is nothing but a continuous loop of D-listers talking about their favorite way to microwave a Hot Pocket.

Nadia G is the new Alton Brown. People just can't get past her TV personality, which is a shame.

Dead serious. She has characters on her show to explain food history. Obvoisly not as sciency as AB, but still much better than a typical dump-and-stir. I'm not a huge fan of the whole-foods/organic type stuff she pushes but she isn't obnoxious about it. The whole Jersey Girl over the top attitude thing is grating if you don't realize it is satire for your entertainment. If you pay close enough attention to the fake outtake comments before each commercial break they are actually quite clever. She has a very subtle humor style that most people won't catch because if you blink you will miss it and it will go 1000 feet over your head. Sort of like John Leguizamo in "The Pest."

Well...it was a historic moment, so I guess that could fly. Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney don't get on the same stage every day.

mtv hasn't been music videos only for decades. they play shows that people want to watch. if people didn't watch these shows they wouldn't be on the air.

I can't remember the last time I sat and watched something on MTV. I think I gave Ridiculousness a shot and Rob Dyerurdyick was so unfunny I think I barfed.

MTV Had its day, and that day is long gone. It is now a channel for teen reality shows. "Couldn't get my boyfriend to 'bag it' so now I'm pregnant.", "Look at me I like to get wasted and be a jackass because I'm from Jersey, Mind if I stick my dick in you?", "Generic YouTube clip show with a skater that nobody has heard of and his cast of idiots who could learn a thing or two from Bob Saget."
