Once you use it, you will be glad that you spent that money.

Try out the Liberty chair. An architect I worked for used Aeron and they were amazing. The only reason I suggest testing the Liberty is because it's designed for reclining, which was my only complaint of the Aeron.

Family friend had one and i sat in it a few times. The mesh back feels a little odd but is pretty comfortable. I think i would rather have a nice leather chair instead unless it was really hot where i was. The price isnt worth it to me but a lot of people seem to like them.

I have one at work and I love it. Not quite so much that I have shelled out for one at home, but maybe someday.

Then you didn't buy the good Aeron; mine reclines.

PaulNEPats, you're not talking about buying a used one on Ebay are you?

I have a Herman Miller Chair and It hurts my back. I switched to a cheap $20 Lifetime Brand Plastic Folding chair I purchased at Costco Wholesale and I feel much better than I did in my Miller Office Chair. I sugest that if you really want one, find a LOCAL authorized dealer and get fitted. Aeron Chairs are like a custom tailored suit you need to be measured before you try it on and buy it.

Yeah, with a lever. Which may or may not be your thing. I'm just suggesting the Liberty as an option for a test sitting. Nothing more.

The aeron is a weird chair. First off, it doesn't feel necessarily comfortable when you sit in it. But when you get out of one after sitting for 6 hours straight, you barely ever feel like you've actually been sitting. No back pain, no stiffness.

Now is it worth $600? Yes of course, if for no other reason than build quality. These chairs do not break. Every single office chair I had before the aeron broke.

I don't know what model I have or how much I payed, but it's here in this picture: http://www.pics.bbzzdd.com/beta/users/skace/Skace_-_Room2.jpg

Unfortunately my left armrest has. But other than that, the rest of the chair is a masterpiece of craftsmenship.

i have used this chair for more than a year
and yes i can attest to its value

the one i have is fully loaded and is a size c
is it worth 600? err maybe

its the most comfortable chair i have ever sat my tuckus in

my arse is hurtin in lesser chairs and it never does in that one
if ur lookin to get one and don't want to spend 600ish on it get one used

edit: the price you are paying for a used one is too much
keep looking and you will find somethin
i got mine 600 retail with shipping no tax

I sat in one last week and thought it sucked. I'll take my $40 leather office depot special any day.

I would say yes. I bought an imitation one for $90 and even that is the best chair that has been blessed by my ass.

I have about 6 for sale, good condition, in Purchase, NY preferred local pickup.

400 each. I'll undercut most online sites. PM if interested.

Not a bad deal, are yours the basic or fully adjustable model?

Nope, I hear it's overpriced. It's the Bose of chairs. You can get chairs of similar quality for less

excellent reference

maybe for the casual random person it may seem like a good analogy or whatever but this is a bit misleading...

Bose does a heck of a lot of marketing... Herman's don't. Herman's are like snapon tools... niche, luxury items... they sell to a certain upscale market that show off their status. like bmw.

Bose, they sell to the mass consumer, you can find Bose at like circuit city... their prices are high due to their heavy marketing.

i have a herman... do i feel it's worth the price they charge? no.

do I feel a Banana republic shirt is worth their $58 and it's 'made in' where ever? no.

But the herman has won design and ergonomic awards when it came on the scene yrs ago... it does work for providing comfort.. but you pay a similar price of a chair made out of leather...

I just like the fact that I don't have to worry about the chair wearing out, like all my old ones eventually did.

You just have to watch out for your desks, walls and other furniture . Because the Aeron will eat right through them if you spin around too fast. My old desk had some good dingers from the sucker. But yea, it doesn't look it, but it is a steel titan of a chair.
