While I find it hard to buy that Sylar has turned around so quickly to be a good guy, I'm kind of enjoying it. They need to do more reflection with his character, I'm assuming that the power to see the history of objects plays a big roll with his turn around...we need to see some of the turmoil and revelations that it brings to him. It just isn't really believable that some one so determined and single minded would be able to change that quickly.

Best part of season 1. I saw the season finale encore on NBC randomly and immediately had to order Season 1; ended up getting the HD-DVD set for free with the XBOX 360 HD-DVD drive. Nathan flying Peter away was just awesome.

I thought that part was Season 2. I remember the last episode of S1 only show Nathan flew Peter toward the sky and then the explosion. Season 2 is where they showed Peter blew up, Nathan charred and falling, Peter caught him, and flew toward the city, which I agree was a great sequence.

If more people followed what was said on the show rather than cry about wanting eye candy or less of a certain character or why the fuck are the main characters all related (which is a main base of the show)....then everything would be more clear.

They write US TV and movies so dumbed down already as far as not hiding plot twists.

It has been mentioned:
Nathan said he died of a heart attack which he later said was suicide.
Mrs. Petrelli: it was suicide and has mentioned he was 'weak' and suffering from mental illness for years, having delusions of grandeur.

It's clear he was directly involved with Linderman.

Nathan only knows what his mom told him more than likely...but being it was 'suicide' and the mom has shown she is capable of going after her own children (Peter and Gabriel/Sylar being locked up/etc)...more than likely she and the others had a falling out with Papa and outed him permanently.

Apparently though some of his followers found him and have been caring for him since.

He is also behind getting the formula to use it massively which is more than likely what lead the rest of the team to remove him from the picture to begin with.

It's pretty clear he can absorb power...now whether this was an original ability of his or due to chemical enhancement by the formula or another formula one doesn't know.

The twist here though is 'the hunger' that both Peter and Gabriel are trying to fight and control

Well sylar is turned good for now but that could change. Sure when peter went to the future sylar was a goodie good but the future means nothing in this show. I like that they have him trying to be good but at the same time your wondering if he has any underlying intentions.

Just because he is a goodie good in the future doesnt mean thats how it really will be like as the show has already taught future events are changeable.

Since Sylar has Claire's power, couldn't he just open up peoples' heads to take their power and then give them some of his blood to heal them?

What happened to Elle anyway? Sylar tried to take her power and then she just disappears for a couple of eps..

Adam's power was healing. papa took his power, thus 500 year-old Adam = dead.
Now having that power, Papa = OK

Sylar = learn (must kill)
Peter = absorb (no kill/retains power)
Papa = siphon (no power left/must touch)

Papa's seems the most powerful, in that it renders the target completely powerless. The weakness being that he has to physically touch the victim. Peter just has to be around a hero to gain their power. I'd say both abilities are a push, more or less....until dipshit peter let's Papa touch him.

Perhaps he can resist Papa's power drain and then take his power.
